Training on Introduction to Agroecology

February 28, 2023

Agroecology Training at FarmED and Conygree Farm, 2022

On May 2022, AE4EU partner ECVC held a 2-days training program at FarmED and Conygree Farm in collaboration with Landworkers Alliance (LWA) and FarmED. The training covers the topic of introduction to agroecology by looking at the practice and principles of agroecology with peer-to-peer discussion and stories around the campfire. The objective of this training is to 1) develop participants’ skills in analysing problems and developing solutions based on agroecological approaches; 2) develop participants’ knowledge of core agroecological practices and processes that improve farm performance by reducing reliance on external inputs.

Jonty Brunyee from FarmED and Jyoti Fernandes from LWA leads the training by talking about the importance of working with the natural environment to build a better and fairer food system with high-welfare animals and healthy food that’s accessible to everyone. The training was attended by more or less 35 people from different backgrounds therefore knowledge sharing was also generated horizontally among them.
